Children’s services at the Elizabeth Taber Library nurture readers from birth to seventh grade through collections and programs. From board books to middle reads and everything in between, we offer a diverse collection of reading material along with DVDs, audiobooks, digital materials, and our Funbrary collection. Our programs for our youngest patrons focus on early literacy, social-emotional development, and fine and gross motor skills. Programs for school-aged children include crafts, book clubs, STEAM programs, and special performers intended to educate, entertain, and expand the world we live in. We are community- oriented and responsive to the needs of Marion’s youth and their parents, caregivers, and educators.

Meet the Children’s Librarian

Miss Macy has been the children’s Librarian at the Elizabeth Taber Library since 2024. Her favorite thing about working as a children’s librarian is coming up with fun and innovate programs for the youth of Marion. Her favorite books in the Library are picturebooks because they’re some of the most creative and innovative books available for children and adults both! When not in the children’s room, Miss Macy might be at the beach, working on craft projects, spending time with her two cats and her fiance’, or reading of course! Macy holds a Masters of Library and Information Science and a Masters of Children’s Literature both from Simmons University. You can email Miss Macy at mdavis@sailsinc.org
