The Middle Reads Collection

As readers grow, the Elizabeth Taber Library aims to grow with them. The middle reads collection is designed for readers in the middle - looking for more complex books that are relevant to their lives. The chapter books and graphic novels in this section are best for readers in grades 5-7, but anyone can browse and use the middle reads collection. Often middle reads serves as a bridge between children's materials and the young adult section.

Programs for Middle Readers

All library programs are designed to be developmentally appropriate for various age groups - we indicate recommended ages on our flyers and event calendar. Kids in the middle reads group (grades 5-7) age are invited to join us for kids programs after school, at this time we reserve attendance at young adult programs for grades 8+. We also hope to increase our number of programs just for our middle readers soon! Full program information can be found on our event calendar
